Facebook, Telegram have 60 days to pay fines slapped by Moscow crt

MOSCOW, Sep 17 (PRIME) -- Facebook and Telegram must pay the fines imposed by a Russian court during 60 days after the resolutions come into force, then the penalties will be claimed by bailiffs, Zulfiya Gurinchuk, press secretary of the Tagansky District Court of Moscow, told PRIME late on Thursday.

The country’s courts have repeatedly fined the companies for non-deletion of the banned content and links.

Telegram has two decisions on fines of 5 million rubles that are in force and are to be paid voluntarily by October 24. Fines on three other decisions for 7 million rubles in total are to be paid by November 7.

Facebook must pay 17 million rubles in fines under four resolutions by October 19 and 26 million rubles under eight decisions by September 28.
